Lorena Sprager of CLG co-presented on The Silent Crisis: How to do Outreach in an Anti-Immigrant Climate resource. The conference was held in San Francisco, February 20 to 22.
Three CLG members presented at this conference in Portland, Oregon on March 1. Janet Ohene-Frempong presented on diversity, Audrey Riffenburgh on plain language and Lorena Sprager on Community Health Workers and health literacy. Dr. Dean Shillinger called out Ohene-Frempong and Riffenburgh as early leaders of the health literacy movement in the United States.
Clear Language Group member, Audrey Riffenburgh, was invited to be one of 11 health literacy professionals to present at the Institute of Medicine Roundtable on Health Literacy in April in Washington, DC. The discussion explored how organizations change in order to improve health literacy. Audrey was identified by colleagues in the field as a health literacy champion and implementer. She is the Senior Health Literacy Specialist for the University of New Mexico Hospitals in Albuquerque and a founding member of CLG.

Participants work on an educational program of their choice resulting in a final product that is current, comprehensive, informed by research and reflective of best practices.
